SafePrescribe
SafePrescribe is a collaborative program with Nebraska Medical Association and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services that provides one-on-one education of healthcare providers through individualized peer-to-peer education. Trained physicians and pharmacists complete brief educational sessions with prescribers around opioid prescribing and treatment needs. The meetings are intended to be carried out face-to-face, but in the current Covid-19 environment, the program has adapted a virtual model.
Each visit includes discussion of one or more of the following topics:
1. Co-prescribing of naloxone with opioid prescriptions
view the Naloxone brochure
2. Using the Nebraska Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP)
view the PDMP brochure
3. Avoiding/reducing co-prescribing of benzodiazepines and opioids together

4. Medications for Addiction Treatment including opioid and alcohol use disorders
