  • The Nebraska Medical Association's Childhood Obesity Prevention Project

    “We envision physicians mobilized as leaders in our communities across Nebraska finding solutions to the growing epidemic of childhood obesity.” 

    The mission of the Childhood Obesity Prevention Project is to mobilize and engage physicians as advocates in their practice, communities and for statewide policies to prevent overweight and obesity in Nebraska children. To carry out its mission, the Childhood Obesity Prevention Project will provide:

    • Community Outreach
    • Policy Advocacy

    Welcome to Foster Healthy Weight in Youth: Nebraska’s Clinical Childhood Obesity Model, where you will find the clinical resources and patient education materials to help you effectively address the childhood obesity epidemic in your practice and your community.

    Nebraska’s Clinical Childhood Obesity Model was developed to assist healthcare providers to incorporate the Expert Committee Recommendations into practice. It is a comprehensive model which includes:
